US is preparing to invade Cuba

Following the resumption of war between the US and Iran, the Pentagon has focused on the situation around Cuba. Among the possible scenarios analyzed by military planners was an airborne operation led by the US Army and involving the 101st Airborne Division – the only US unit prepared for such a mission, according to CBS News.

Officials emphasized that the briefings were part of the standard military planning process and did not indicate a political decision to conduct the operation.

Late last month, the US military held a concept of operations briefing, during which early military planning options for individual missions were discussed.

Any operation against Cuba currently appears unlikely, as a significant portion of US military resources have already been transferred to the Middle East to support operations against Iran.
