The Venezuelan authorities intend to spend all oil export revenues, in accordance with the terms agreed with Washington, exclusively on the purchase of American products.
“I have just been informed that Venezuela will only buy American products with the money it earns under our new oil deal,” US President Donald Trump wrote.
He explained that this would include agricultural products, medicines, medical equipment, equipment to improve the power grid and energy facilities.
“This means that Venezuela agrees that the US will be its main business partner. This is a wise choice and a positive development for the people of the US and Venezuela,” he said.
