We will not recognize Donbas as Russian, either de jure or de facto, - Zelensky

"As for the position of the Russians, it has not changed yet. You know that they want our Donbas. Our position is practical, realistic, and fair, and we stand by it. We do not want to give up our Donbas. The Americans want to find a compromise; they are proposing a free economic zone. I emphasize once again that a free economic zone does not mean that it will be under the leadership of the Russian Federation," said President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Zelensky noted that the issue of territories is being discussed, but Ukraine will not recognize the temporarily occupied part of Donbas as Russian, according to Ukrainska Pravda.

“We will not recognize Donbas as Russian, either de jure or de facto. The part that is temporarily occupied. Nevertheless, we will discuss the issue of territory. You know that it is one of the key issues. We do not have a consensus yet,” he said.
