Zelensky believes in quick ceasefire in Ukraine

"As for a quick ceasefire, I believe, yes, that it can be done quickly. The issue of a ceasefire for a month, for two months is a window of opportunity where you can make a plan and try to put all the pressure on anyone who disrupts it, but you can end the war," he said.

He specified that thanks to the ceasefire it is possible to end a certain stage of the war, such as the "hot" one.

In his opinion, a ceasefire for years is a freezing of the conflict, not the end of the war.

Speaking about Putin's position on the ceasefire, the president said that the Russian leader does not want a ceasefire, because he is not in a weak position on the battlefield.

"He has this situation in his hands. He does not want us to be left with at least one military on the territory of the Kursk region. He is amassing troops to hit us and to press harder. This is a clear tactic of his in all directions - to scare people, to hit with missiles, to give himself better conditions in one or another format of ending the war," Zelensky said.

He noted that it is possible to achieve complete silence on the front, because Putin all previous years said that it was Ukraine that does not want a ceasefire and Ukraine is derailing all agreements.

"Ukraine wants a ceasefire and Putin will have to wriggle out of this situation because the world will not understand him," he said.
