Any US intervention in the conflict in the Middle East will be a pretext for a full-scale war in the region.
The statement came amid reports that US President Donald Trump is mulling backing Israel and striking Iranian nuclear facilities, Sky News reported.
"Any US intervention would be a reason to launch a full-scale war in the region," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmael Baghaei said.
Asked if he believes the US can control its ally Israel, Baghaei said, "Not really."
