Poland also wants to produce Patriot missiles

"The proposal I put forward today on behalf of Poland takes into account certain concerns of the American side. We proposed that this be a trilateral cooperation – between the United States, Ukraine, and Poland – because we are talking about ensuring the security of this production, ensuring it is carried out in a safe location," said Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, Deputy Minister of National Defense of Poland.

She explained that the initiative is a response to Trump's statement during the NATO summit, who expressed his willingness to consider the possibility of producing components for Patriot systems in cooperation with Ukraine, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

According to the Deputy Minister, Patriot missiles are one of the most in-demand weapons systems in the world, which is why Poland is eager to join their joint production.

During the talks, the Polish side presented arguments in favor of establishing a regional service center for Patriot systems in Poland. As Sobkowiak-Czarnecka noted, Washington positively views the development of the Polish defense industrial complex and the country's strategic location on NATO's eastern flank.

Expanding the American military presence in Poland was a separate topic of discussion. The Deputy Minister reported that a special working group has already been established in the United States to prepare this project, and a similar unit is also operating in the Polish Ministry of National Defense.

She expressed hope that in the coming weeks, an agreement will be signed on a new $4 billion American line of credit for Poland under the Foreign Military Financing program for the purchase of American weapons.

The implementation of the European SAFE mechanism does not preclude the purchase of American military equipment, and both instruments can complement each other to strengthen the defense capability of Poland and the entire eastern flank of NATO.
