Allies discuss three levels of defense for Ukraine

The security plan calls for the creation of a demilitarized zone, which would likely be patrolled by neutral peacekeeping forces from a third country agreed upon by Ukraine and Russia, according to the Financial Times.

Next, what the interlocutors called a “significantly more robust border” would be defended by Ukrainian troops armed and trained by NATO countries.

The third line of defense would be deeper inside Ukraine and would be manned by European deterrent forces, with American resources supporting them from the rear.

Even with potential US support, the public and politicians in many European countries are still concerned about the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine.

The US has promised Europe air and intelligence support for troops in Ukraine.
