“I have always said that I would do it, but only in coordination with European partners,” he said.

Merz pointed out that some countries already supply Ukraine with cruise missiles, DW reported.

“The British do it, the French do it, the Americans in any case also,” he noted.

If a relevant agreement is reached, Germany should take part in such deliveries.

In his opinion, the Ukrainian army should move from exclusively defensive actions to more active ones.

"Ukraine's armed forces have been only reactive for three years now. It is time for them to start influencing the course of events," Merz said.

He cited the destruction of land routes between Russia and occupied Crimea, which are important for the logistics of the Russian army, as an example of the possible use of Taurus missiles.
