EU and China should unite against Trump - Xi Jinping

Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized that there will be no winners in the tariff war, and going against the world means isolating oneself, Xinhua reported.

China and the EU are the world's largest economies and staunch supporters of economic globalization and free trade. Their combined output accounts for more than one-third of the world's output and there is a close economic symbiotic relationship between them.

China and Europe should live up to their international obligations, jointly safeguard the trend of economic globalization and the international trade environment, and jointly oppose unilateral methods of intimidation.

He said this is necessary not only to protect their own legitimate rights and interests, but also to protect international justice and fairness and international rules and order.

Xi Jinping noted that China has always regarded the EU as an important pole in a multipolar world and is a major country that openly supports the unity, development and growth of the EU.
