Germany sees window of opportunity for negotiations with Putin

A German official noted that Europeans could initiate dialogue with Russia, provided it is in a format recognized as legitimate and effective by European countries, Reuters reports.

He added that there are strong indications that the E3 group, which includes Germany, France, and the UK, will continue to play an important role in this matter.

The official stated that recent hostilities indicate that the dialogue process with Russia will likely last months rather than weeks. The key, he emphasized, is ensuring that it takes place with Ukraine's full consent.

Coordination with the US, whose mediated talks have stalled as Washington focuses on Iran, must also remain a guiding principle.
