Kremlin has provided Iran with the coordinates of 55 Israeli energy facilities

The Russians have divided all potential targets into three categories based on their strategic importance, according to The Jerusalem Post.

The first tier includes critical power generation facilities, the destruction of which would paralyze the national energy system. The report specifically mentions the Orot Rabin power plant as a top priority target.

The second tier of targets includes major urban and industrial energy hubs in central Israel.

The third tier consists of local infrastructure, specifically regional substations serving industrial zones and small power plants.

Russian intelligence considers the Israeli power grid vulnerable due to its high level of isolation. Since Israel is an “energy island” and does not import electricity from neighboring countries, Russian intelligence has told Iran that damaging even a few key components could lead to a complete and prolonged energy collapse. This would lead to widespread power outages and technical failures, the consequences of which would be difficult to resolve.

Ukrainian officials claim that Russia has a dual motive for sharing this intelligence. Moscow seeks to strengthen the resolve of its main ally in the region and provoke a new crisis in the Middle East that would divert the international community’s attention and resources away from the war in Ukraine.
