Iran imposes tolls on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz

"There are reports that Iran is charging tolls on tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz – they better not do that, and if they do, they better stop it immediately," he said.

Despite the ceasefire announcement Tuesday evening, which Trump said included a full and immediate opening of the strait, oil tanker traffic through this vital waterway remains virtually shut down due to the lack of clear instructions from Iran.

Trump complained about the traffic disruption in the strait.

"Iran is very poorly, some would say shamefully, fulfilling its obligations to allow oil through the Strait of Hormuz. This is not the deal we made!" he said.
