Amid a full-scale war, Ukrainian women face unique challenges.

According to *The New York Times*, pregnant servicewomen often remain on duty until the seventh month. Special military uniforms are made for them, and charitable organizations provide assistance with medical issues and diagnostics.

The situation is complicated by constant attacks on medical infrastructure. Since the beginning of the invasion, Russia has carried out more than 2,000 strikes on hospitals and clinics, including over 80 maternity hospitals. In July, one such attack resulted in the death of a woman in the last weeks of pregnancy.

Experts are recording a demographic crisis: in 2024, Ukraine had the highest mortality rate and the lowest birth rate in the world.

The Kvitna Foundation, which works in the field of women's health, reports that supporting pregnant women in wartime is one of its priorities. The organization provides access to diagnostics, supplies medical equipment and provides psychological assistance to women at risk.

“Our goal is for every woman to be able to undergo examination safely, even in war conditions,” the foundation said.
