Putin and Trump support direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine

"At the initiative of the US president, a telephone conversation took place between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. Our president warmly thanked his American counterpart for his hospitality and the excellent organization of the summit meeting in Alaska, as well as for the progress achieved during the meeting towards a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. The US president, in turn, reported on the talks that had just concluded at the White House with Volodymyr Zelensky and the leaders of a number of European countries," he said.
