U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance is already being positioned as Donald Trump's successor as U.S. president.
"I think it's inevitable at this point that Vance will be the candidate in 2028. He's the future of the America First movement and he's already proven himself," said Senator Jim Banske.
Many of Trump's longesttime aides and most ardent supporters now see the vice president as a means of cementing the incumbent US president's worldview, at least for the next decade. In their view, Trump has destroyed the old Republican Party and Vance can complete the construction of a new one, Axios reported.
Vance has won the favor of Trump supporters through bellicose public speeches, skillfully building relationships with the US president's team, and demonstrating unwavering loyalty to the White House chief's vision.
