Solution will come only at the negotiating table - Modi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India supports peace and is ready to act as a peacemaker wherever it can. He has cordial relations with both Russian Federation and Ukraine, RBC Ukraine reported.

"I can sit down with President Putin and say, 'This is not the time for war.' And I can say the same thing, in a friendly way, to President Zelensky: 'Brother, no matter how many people support you around the world, no solution can be found on the battlefield. Only peace is the key to a solution. The solution will come only when both Ukraine and Russia sit down at the negotiating table," he said.

He noted that Ukraine could consult with its allies, however, this would not bear fruit as both sides of the war should be involved in the discussion.

"It was difficult to find peace at first, but I hope that now the situation is conducive to a productive dialog between Ukraine and Russia," he added.
