US President Donald Trump gave a positive assessment of his meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, saying that they had reached a trade agreement that could be signed in the near future.
When asked how soon he thought the agreement could be concluded, Trump replied: “I think pretty soon, we don't have that many serious obstacles.”
“We have reached an agreement. Now we will review the terms of the agreement every year, but I think it will be in effect for a long time. It is a one-year agreement, and we will renew it in a year,” he added.
Trump noted that he and Xi had agreed on almost everything, including soybean trade and tariffs related to fentanyl, CNN reported.
“We discussed many issues that you constantly talk about,” he said.
