US President Donald Trump expects to resolve many issues during negotiations with Chinese leader Xi Jinping to ease the trade war.
Trump expects his meeting with Xi to lead to a reduction in US tariffs imposed on China, AFP reports.
“I think we will have a great meeting with Chinese President Xi, and many issues will be resolved,” Trump said.
He is optimistic.
“We have been negotiating with them, we are not going into the meeting unprepared. I think we will get a very good result for our country and, in fact, for the whole world,” the US president said.
He is not sure whether he will discuss the sensitive issue of Taiwan's self-government during his meeting with the Chinese leader.
