US President Donald Trump sharply reacted to the criticism of Ilon Musk regarding the government bill on spending and taxes.
Trump said that the businessman would not have been able to stay afloat without government support.
"Elon probably gets more subsidies than anyone in history, by a huge margin, and without those subsidies he would probably have to wind down his business and go home to South Africa," Trump said.
He ironically noted that there would then have been no rocket launches, satellites or electric car production, and the country could have saved a huge fortune.
Trump mentioned DOGE, hinting, "Perhaps we should have DOGE take a close look at this?".
