US has given Hamas 60-90 days to lay down its arms

"We could see progress within 30 days, hopefully with respect to the beginning of removing some weapons, and hopefully with filling in some tunnels within the next 60-90 days," Kushner said following a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to him, the meeting with Netanyahu and his team lasted nearly four hours. The two sides discussed the Peace Council's roadmap in detail, specifically the Israeli side's concerns and misunderstandings regarding the plan: "I think we had a very, very good meeting today. We spent almost four hours with him and his team going through all the various details."

He reported that some of the concerns expressed by the Israeli side had been addressed. According to Kushner, the two sides have addressed the misunderstandings and disinformation that had been spread regarding the plan, Fox News reports.

He noted that the plan does not limit Israel's right to defend itself in the event of immediate threats.

Kushner emphasized that cooperation between both sides is necessary for progress. He stated that if Hamas voluntarily surrenders its weapons and tunnels within the next 60-90 days, it will mean the removal of a significant threat to Israel's security.

"And if they fail to fulfill their obligations now, everyone will see that they are insincere in their desire for peace. And then Israel will receive much greater support from the United States and other countries to complete the work properly," Kushner said.

He reported that he had met with Hamas representatives the previous day. According to Kushner, they said everything correctly during the meeting, but it is very difficult to trust a terrorist organization that has committed such horrific atrocities.

"We will give them a chance to act, but it must be based on action and concrete steps. And I hope that will be true," Kushner said.
