US strikes dozens of targets in Iran

According to US Central Command, the latest round of attacks, carried out in response to the attacks on three cargo ships in the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, occurred hours after President Donald Trump declared that he believed the temporary ceasefire with Iran had ended.

"At the direction of the Commander in Chief, US Central Command forces have begun conducting additional strikes against Iran to further degrade its ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz," the command said in a statement.

The US attacked 90 Iranian military installations, including air defense systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage facilities, naval facilities, and military logistics infrastructure. The strikes rocked several cities along Iran's southern coast and left some areas without power.

In retaliation, Tehran launched strikes on Kuwait and Bahrain, where US military bases are located.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense stated that it intercepted missiles and drones, while Qatar briefly declared a heightened security alert but subsequently lifted it.
