Russia has put forward its peace proposal for the Donetsk region for discussion in order to end its war against Ukraine.
"We have two difficult sides here. The president said he is upset with Russia on certain issues, but he is also upset with Ukraine on certain issues. But I will emphasize again that no one has done more to bring these sides closer together and to an agreement than the president. The Russians have put their peace proposal on the table. It includes Donetsk. Perhaps this is not something that Ukrainians will be able to accept," said US Special Representative Steve Whitcoff.
He reiterated that no one has ever made as much progress on this issue as US President Donald Trump. Fox News
Whitcoff said he would meet with Ukrainian representatives in New York this week.
