US President Donald Trump has said he is willing to meet Chinese leader Xi Jinping to resolve the escalation in the trade war between the two countries and called the Chinese leader a "friend".
"Oh, of course he's my friend. I like him. Of course I would meet with him," he said.
Trump's statement came amid reciprocal moves by the US and China, which over the past few days have announced new tariffs in response to each other's actions, Ukrinform reported.
Trump would like to make agreements with other countries to do well for the US. According to him, most of them also want this.
