As an argument in support of his opinion, he stated that Ukraine does not have the money to support itself, according to European Truth.

“We pay for the army, we pay for the state bureaucracy, we pay pensions, we pay for everything. If someone else supports you, you are not a sovereign country,” Orbán said.

He added that this is not a moral statement — it is simply a financial fact.
