US believes in a meeting between Zelensky and Putin

"We strongly believe in this meeting. We believe that we have tried to resolve all other issues, and then leave the question of territory to the leaders. Yes, we have a lot of work to do on the territories, we need to consider all the different concepts, there are many different options to think about," he said.

According to Whitcoff, the US believes that the meeting between Zelensky and Putin could confirm previous agreements and resolve the issue of territories, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“This is a confirmation of the issues we discussed: prosperity, economic growth and opportunities, credit for the Ukrainian system. Therefore, the meeting would cover this, security guarantees. But most importantly, it would cover the issue of territories. And that is why we strongly believe in it,” he said.

He expressed hope that if this happens, then perhaps we will conclude with some kind of trilateral meeting.
