U.S. seizes iranian vessel

“Today, an Iranian-flagged cargo ship named Touska, nearly 900 feet long and weighing almost as much as an aircraft carrier, attempted to pass through our naval blockade, and it ended unsuccessfully,” wrote U.S. President Donald Trump.

The cargo ship was intercepted by the U.S. Navy destroyer USS Spruance in the Gulf of Oman, which had warned them in advance to stop.

The Iranian crew refused to comply with the order, so the U.S. Navy ship stopped them immediately by firing a shot into the engine room.

" “The vessel is currently in the custody of the U.S. Marine Corps. The Touska is subject to U.S. Treasury sanctions due to a history of illicit activity. We have full control of the ship and are examining what is on board,” he said.
