US President Donald Trump said that his special envoy Steve Whitcoff will hold talks with Russian representatives on Wednesday.
Following the talks, the White House will decide on the possible introduction of tariffs against countries that purchase Russian energy resources.
In response to a question about the possibility of imposing a 100% duty on countries that continue to buy Russian oil and gas, the US president noted that a decision will be made in the near future.
“Well, I never mentioned a percentage, but we really intend to do a lot in this direction. Let's see what happens in a relatively short time. We have a meeting with Russia today. Let's see what happens,” he said.
