China has created a bomb that could cause a total blackout

The weapon is capable of disabling an enemy's energy infrastructure, causing widespread blackouts, the South China Morning Post reported.

The bomb is launched from a ground vehicle. After hitting the ground, it ejects 90 cylindrical-shaped submunitions that bounce and explode in the air, scattering small carbon filaments that cause short circuits in the enemy's power systems.

The consequence of using such a weapon can be a complete loss of electricity in the affected area of at least 10,000 square meters.

The bomb is said to be designed to disable enemy command and control systems. Its warhead weighs about 490 kilograms and has a maximum range of 290 kilometers.
