Flooding on the Nepal-Tibet border: 55 ukrainians missing

More than 1,100 people are missing in the region, including over 400 local residents and over 700 tourists from nearly 30 countries, according to Ukrayinska Pravda.

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these are two tourist groups of 47 and 7 Ukrainians, as well as one Ukrainian citizen in a foreign tourist group.

At least 165 people have died in the disaster zone. There is currently no information on Ukrainian citizens among the dead or injured.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing. Access to many disaster areas is difficult due to weather conditions. Local authorities are warning of the possibility of further flooding and landslides.

The Ukrainian embassies in India and China have posted safety advisories on their official platforms. Ukrainian diplomats are in constant contact with the relevant authorities and services conducting search operations, relatives of the missing, and foreign diplomats in their host countries to coordinate international efforts to locate the tourist groups.

Search teams and host country authorities have received full information from Ukrainian diplomatic missions about all Ukrainians with whom contact cannot be established. The search continues.

A team from the Ukrainian Embassy in India has also been dispatched to the disaster zone. The Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Nepal has been involved in the case.
