Trump accused South Africa of white genocide

He cited thousands of stories, a stack of printed newspaper articles and videos that he said confirm mass killings of whites, Reuters reported.

"People are fleeing South Africa for their own safety. Their land is being confiscated from them and in many cases they are being killed," Trump said, referring in particular to white farmers.

Ramaphosa refuted his claims.

“We have thousands of stories about it, we have documentaries, we have news reports,” Trump said.

Trump asked to see a video on a television set specially set up for the meeting. White crosses appeared on the screen - which Trump said were the graves of murdered white South Africans. He demanded a reaction and called for the arrest of a South African opposition leader.
