U.S. President Donald Trump stated that American forces would strike the remaining targets in Iran if no agreement is reached, but ruled out the use of nuclear weapons.
“No. Why would I need that? Why such a stupid question? Why would I use nuclear weapons if we’ve completely destroyed them in a very traditional way?” he said.
According to Trump, U.S. forces have already destroyed 78% of targets on Iranian territory. These include facilities for the production of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Trump emphasized that the U.S. is currently working out the terms of a possible agreement with Iran. If no agreement is reached, American forces will conclude the military operation by striking the remaining targets.
He added that no one should be allowed to use nuclear weapons.
“I want to conclude an agreement that will keep our country and the world safe from madmen with nuclear weapons,” Trump said.
