Trump yelled at Netanyahu

Trump was furious that Israel continued to escalate tensions in Lebanon, which he said threatened to derail negotiations with Iran, according to Axios.

He told the Israeli prime minister that the bombing of Beirut would only further isolate Israel internationally.

"You're fucking crazy. You'd be in jail if it weren't for me. I'm saving you. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this," Trump said.

Trump yelled, "What the hell are you doing?"

Trump reminded Netanyahu of his support during his corruption trial and implied that it was thanks to this that he avoided prison.

The Israeli prime minister's reaction: "Okay, fine, just make sure everything is taken care of."

Israel planned to launch an airstrike on Beirut, but Trump blocked it.

He expressed concern over the number of civilian casualties in Lebanon. Separately, the American president objected to the Israeli military's tactic of destroying entire buildings to eliminate a single Hezbollah commander.

Following the conversation, Israel confirmed that no further strikes on targets in Beirut were planned.
