US continues negotiations with Iran

The ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran, signed last month, has come under significant pressure in recent days following the exchange of strikes between US and Iranian forces this week, ABC News reports.

A US administration official assured that the parties are continuing technical talks on nuclear issues.

"The US remains committed to finding a solution, and technical talks are ongoing. Iran will never possess nuclear weapons," he said.

The 60-day ceasefire and memorandum of understanding are based on compliance, and Iran's actions constitute an unacceptable level of non-compliance.

"Iran's attacks on these peaceful vessels are acts of terrorism," he added.
