US hopes that NATO countries will increase arms purchases for Ukraine

“Our expectation today is that even more countries will make additional contributions, purchase even more, to provide Ukraine with everything it needs for a peaceful resolution to this conflict,” Heggset said.

He recalled that PURL is an initiative under which European countries purchase American weapons, transfer them to NATO for use in Ukraine, and bring peace to this conflict, according to European Truth.

“If we have learned anything from the Trump presidency, it is the active application of the principle of peace through strength. Peace is achieved when you are strong. Not when you speak loudly or point your finger, but when you have real and powerful capabilities that command respect from your opponent,” he said.

He stressed that this is exactly what NATO does, and this is exactly what the PURL initiative embodies.
