U.S. President Donald Trump stated that there is no timeline for the war with Iran.
According to Trump, there is no time pressure regarding the ceasefire, which he extended on Tuesday, or regarding the holding of new peace talks, CNN reports.
When asked when the war might end, Trump replied that there is no timeline and there is no rush.
“People say I want to end this because of the midterm elections, but that’s not true,” he said.
Trump added that his administration wants to secure a favorable deal for the American people.
Trump promised to continue the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports, even though he extended the ceasefire and did not set an end date, putting pressure on Tehran to present a single proposal for resuming negotiations.
