Trump to monitor Strait of Hormuz

According to Trump, the strait's status is part of the negotiating process with Iran, and the US does not allow any scenario in which any party could gain control over it, CNN reports.

He emphasized that the strait is international waters and should not be under anyone's control.

"No, the strait will be open to all. It's international waters. No one will control it. We'll monitor it, but no one will control it," he said.

He warned Oman against interfering, citing possible consequences if it fails to comply.

"Oman will behave like everyone else, or we'll have to blow them up," Trump emphasized.
