Ukraine has very valuable land - Trump

“They have very valuable land in terms of rare earth metals, oil and gas, other things. I want our money to be protected because we're spending hundreds of billions of dollars. And, you know, they may make a deal, they may not make a deal, they may become Russian someday, they may not become Russian someday - we're going to have that money. And I told them that I wanted to get rare earth metals to the equivalent of 500 billion dollars. And they basically agreed to do it. So at least we don't feel stupid. Otherwise we would be stupid. I told them we have to get something. We can't keep paying this money,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News.

The U.S. has spent more than $350 billion in aid to Ukraine, two to three times more than Europe, and indicated that this should not have happened. He expressed his belief that Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine would not have happened if the election had not been rigged.

Asked about a peace agreement with Russian Federation and Ukraine, Trump said, “I think it's going to happen. I think we've made tremendous progress. We're dealing with the Russians, we're dealing with the Ukrainians. I think something will be done.”
