Ukraine's accession to the EU will ruin Hungary's economy - Orban

In his opinion, Ukraine's accession to the EU is unthinkable here and now, Radio Kossuth reported.

“I, for one, am against it,” Orban said.

He has yet to see a single argument that would justify Ukraine's accession in terms of Hungary's interests. He hesitates to say that his refusal will remain forever.

“I can't say always and forever, never, because who knows what history will bring, nobody but God knows, but I can say one thing for sure, that here and now it is unthinkable,” he said.

Orban believes that Ukraine's accession to the EU could destroy the Hungarian agricultural economy and the entire national economy.
