Zelensky awaits Hungary and China's response to the attack on Kyiv

"The rubble of a residential building is currently being cleared in Kyiv following the Russian attack. Unfortunately, we already know of at least eight people who have died. Among them is one child," he said.

There may still be people under the rubble.

"Today's Russian missiles and strike drones are a clear response to everyone in the world who has been calling for weeks and months for a ceasefire and real diplomacy. Russia chooses ballistics over the negotiating table. It chooses to continue killing rather than end the war. And this means that Russia is still not afraid of the consequences. Russia is still taking advantage of the fact that at least part of the world is turning a blind eye to the children killed and looking for excuses for Putin," Zelensky emphasized.

He added that Ukraine is awaiting China's reaction to what is happening, as the PRC has repeatedly called for the war not to be expanded and for a ceasefire.

“We are waiting for Hungary's reaction. The death of children should evoke more emotion than anything else. We are waiting for a reaction from everyone in the world who has called for peace but is now more often silent than taking a principled stand,” he said.

He called on the world to impose new tough sanctions against Russia for everything it is doing.

“All deadlines have already been missed, dozens of opportunities for diplomacy have been ruined. Russia must feel responsible for every strike, for every day of this war,” Zelensky concluded.
